When you are first deciding to Wine Making At Home, there are a few basic wine making supplies that you are going to need to have. For the set up of your wine making operation, you will need a 7.9 gallon primary fermentor, one that has a drilled gasket lid. This will be used to grow the yeast and as well to allow lots of oxygen to your wine.

You are also going to need a drilled stopper, which is also known as a bung, and this is needed to fit the carboy, along with the airlock, to allow the oxygen to stay out of your fermentation and keep the carbon to be released from the carboy.

More Wine Making Supplies

The hydrometer is another of the most important wine making supplies, and it is this item which is what makes sure that you have the proper amount of sugar in your wine, by measuring the specific gravity levels.

When you are making wine at home this level is usually anywhere from 1.05 to 1.10 S.G. The size of the tube in the fermentor is quite small, thus the need for the wine thief and test jar in your collection of wine making supplies. The wine thief is the item that is going to be used to sample some of the wine to insert into the test jar, which is then used to measure the S.G. with the hydrometer.

The hydrometer also informs you when you need to continue on to your next task in the wine making process. A siphon tube is another important piece of wine making equipment, and is used to deliver your wine from one fermentor to the next, while keeping out as many unwanted particles as possible from your wine by attaching it to the 5ft siphon tubing in between the two tubs.

The bottle filler is used as simply in the way that its name states, which is to fill the wine bottles. This item in your group of wine making supplies is used by draining the wine from the fermanter into each bottle, allowing you to stop and start the flow of wine as needed.

There are many other supplies that you can purchase as well, however these are the general basics, and so this is really all you require in order to make a full and delicious batch of Fruit Wine. However if you are planning on making specialty or larger amounts of wine, then you are going to have to purchase specialty wine making equipment as well.

How to Start Your Energy Drink Company in 2 Weeks

December 8, 2008 by Jorge Olson · Leave a Comment

Many people want to start their energy drink company and spend dozens of hours surfing the net and calling companies all around the USA to see how to get started, how to get all the ingredients, how to label, buy cans or bottles and how to bottle.

The problem is there is no real information out there on how to actually start your energy drink company. Suppliers are now asking you for large amounts of money just to speak with you because of the demand they have and lack of time. What can you do as an entrepreneur?

The first thing you should do as an entrepreneur of Energy Drink Beverages is focus on the most important points of creating your company. These points will include:

Beverage Development: including flavor, formulation, label, package (like a can or a bottle), and size (the best is 16 oz).
Production: Where will you produce your energy drink, what is the price per case with what minimums, how to warehouse it and where, shipping costs.

Marketing: How is your product different from the rest? Your differentiator can be taste, packaging, ingredients, or sales strategy. Who is your customer and how will you sell to them? How will you let the distributors, retailers and consumers know about your product? What is your budget per store and per case?

Sales & Distribution: How will you sell your product to wholesalers, distributors, retailers and consumers? What are your pricing models for every level of sales? How many salespeople will you need and where? How many accounts will you open per city and how?

Exit & Business Strategy: How much money will you need? Do you have to raise money through investors? Will you sell the company? When will you sell it? How much money will your company make per year for the next 3 years? What are those numbers based on? How many accounts per day will you open to achieve these numbers?

We all see how Red Bull, Monster Energy Drink, Rockstart Energy Drink and other products like Sobe, Hansen’s products, Full Throttle, Noz and all the other energy drinks are growing. We see them in supermarkets, convenience stores an now in different types of retail stores. We’ve seen how these companies grow at up to 100% every year. The question is how can entrepreneurs start and do the same with their products. Or in many cases entrepreneurs don’t want to grow exponentially from the start and would like to sell to local stores in their town or in their city.

How can you start? Who can help? Who has done every level of beverage development, distribution and sales? We have! We can help you from start to finish with your product.

These are just a few points that you need to explore when starting your energy drink company or any beverage company. The points can be the basis for your business or operational plan.

If you are ready to start your energy drink or any other beverage NOW we have a new plan to help you start in just a few days and be ready with your product quickly. For full details call Carlos Lopez at (619) 921 3124

Are Energy Drinks Dead?

November 10, 2008 by Jorge Olson · Leave a Comment

Are Energy Drinks still at the front of the New Age Beverage Business?

Energy Drinks are still growing and double figure digits. The problem is when you look close the only companies actually growing are Monster Energy Drink, Rockstart Energy Drink, Red Bull, Coca Cola products like Tab and Burn or Full Throttle, Pepsi Cola with Sobe and other large companies.

None of the small companies are growing or succeeding. Furthermore, when I speak with distributors, retailers and wholesalers they tell me they get at least one call every single day from someone selling them an energy drink. They tell me they don’t what to see an energy drink ever again. So what’s going on? Are new energy drinks dead or if there still an opportunity or an opening for new energy drinks to flourish?

Well, in my opinion there is still a large opportunity, but not through traditional channels. You can’t get a new energy drink into 7-Eleven, or Circle K, or any of the important retail accounts. Well, you actually, can, if you can pay $100 per store times 4,000 stores for slotting, but that’s $400,000 just to get into the store and in many cases that is not even enough anymore. How will you sell the product, advertise, etc. No, that’s not the answer.

The answer is alternative channels. Many beverage companies don’t realize that consumer goods can be sold in many different places, not just supermarkets and convenience stores. Energy Drinks as well as other type of beverages can be sold in office buildings, in hardware stores, doctor’s clinics, and the list goes on and on. For example, the largest growing energy drink sales are using MLM – Multi Level Marketing and are being sold from home.

Using direct marketing, untraditional methods of distribution and clever sales strategies you can still sell your energy drink or other beverages and capture a niche and your share of the market.

So are Energy Drinks Dead? No, they are not, but the traditional way of launching an energy drink is saturated. So don’t waste your time (and money) trying to prove me wrong. I have spoken with 3 companies just last month that when through up to $6 million dollars and could not compete in the space.

Think out of the box, think alternative, think direct sales.
Thanks,
Jorge Olson
